Alex Barker oversees the FT’s coverage of politics and the economy from overseas bureaus. He is based in London and took on the role after 16 years as a correspondent.
Barker was Brussels bureau chief on the night Britain voted to leave the EU and has covered more than 50 summits. Prior reporting roles include European diplomatic editor, global media editor and political correspondent in Westminster.
He made the Hot Money podcast series in partnership with Pushkin Industries, which has won four awards including Best Podcast and Best Investigative Series.
